pack your bags!

I started my Fall Semester of Grad School on Monday...and in my classes, you know the routine - you have to go around the room and share things about yourself. Of course, I really haaate talking about myself. On the first day of class this is what I dread. Well, we were each to take 5 minutes to talk to the person beside us and then we were to share it with the class. In the process, I realize how little I've done in my 23 years of life! Everyone in my program is different ages, from coming right out of college, all the way up to their 40's. It was amazing to hear their life stories, their interests and to hear what they have done with their lives. I was really impressed with the places they have traveled to. One girl lived in Europe for 2 months, just exploring with 15 of her friends. Two other ladies lived in Amsterdam, Thailand, all these extremely interesting places. The girl beside me had been to Venezuela, Germany, France, Spain, and a list of so many other countries, and me...well, I've been to a few states and Canada.

I feel grateful that I do get to travel and go on vacations, because I have a lot of friends who don't and whose families never did, but hearing all about the lives of women in my classes and places they have traveled to forced me to write a list of all the places I'd love to see. Exploring different places can open ones eyes and mind up to so much and I want that experience - and as some people say, I want to see the moon from the other side of the world.

I'm still working on my list of all the places I'd love to see (and I'll post it) but I'm so curious - what are some of your FAVORITE places (both in and out of the United States) and what places do you hope to travel to some day? These can be states, countries, towns, sights to see, anything at all! I'm intrigued! :)

  2. We had to do that last week too! I got so nervous and stumbled over my words, ugh. Anyway, it sounds like you've been more places than I have. I've never been to Canada. The farthest west I've been is New Orleans and I was so excited to be in a different time zone, ha!

  4. Oh, I like this! Hmm my favorite places would be Vail, Colorado, Seattle, Washington, NYC, St. John-Virgin Islands, and Savannah, Georgia. I am a big beliver of it's important to see america before I go over seas (Although, I'd DIE to!) I went to Mexico a few weeks ago but it really didn't compare to some of my other trips!

  5. I feel the same way! A lot of my girlfriends studied abroad this summer, while I was stuck taking classes at our school, hmph! But, I'm going to Memphis and maybe Vegas this December--both of which I've never been! And, my boyfriend and I are backpacking across Europe for 3 weeks, in May!!!! But some of the places I HAVE been to, that I absolutely LOVE, are...Colorado (Denver, Vail, Beaver Creek), the Keys, Bahamas (Freeport), Canada (Ontario), Northern Wisconsin :))

  7. Chicago and Seattle are on my to-do list state side. Went to Switzerland for a day on a two week Europe Trip in high school and am DYING to spend more time there. It was gorgeous. And I would love to go to Greece one day with a significant other, perhaps a honeymoon, but thats very far off.

  8. I had never left the U.S. until I was 21, and since then I've gotten to go to several countries, but I was definitely feeling like I'd been bit with the travel bug and was missing out before then. As far as the States, Chicago is my favorite city ever. I loved Athens and Thessaloniki in Greece, and I wish I could have gone to some of the Greek islands. I also really want to go to Paris for the first time, and to London again.
