"control for smilers can't be bought"

Great this week so far:

-Monday night I met up with one of my best friends at an Irish Pub for dinner and drinks. A guy started singing covers of songs like "Hey Jealousy" by the Gin Blossoms and "Back on the Train" by Phish...which was awesome. I love some good music. In the midst of all the gossip, laughing hysterically, and catching up on all the things we read on facebook about people from high school, we were planning our WEDDINGS. I'm far off from actually being engaged, but her and her boyfriend are talking about buying a house and tying the knot soon. Mine is going to be southern, simple, but elegant, and lots of PINK!

-Had great discussions in class last night. Grad classes really challenge me and make me think of things I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. They let me see so many different points of view. I love grad classes in that everyone is so diverse in life experiences and in ages. There is SO much to learn from one another. The teacher isn't too bad to look at either - wowza!

-I did so well on a test I took on Monday night which was the HARDEST test I've ever taken in my life! We all freaked out afterwards and one girl said it was all she could do to hold back the tears. The test seemed like it was a foreign language, but I did as best as I could. Standard deviations, z-scores, and t-scores just don't do it for me. I don't like numbers. at ALL.

-Watching the Biggest Loser last night. I CRIED, but it's so good and inspiring. Tracey, girl, don't even get me started on you. "DIDJA EAT SOME CAKE? DIDJA DRINK SOME SODA?" Is it just me or do you think that there should be a psychologist on the Ranch? I feel like the people on the show need to deal with so many other things that can't be dealt with in just changing their bodies. They need to deal with how they feel inside as well. I know they try to break them down in the gym in order to make them talk about their feelings, but I just feel there should be more emphasize on actually going to counseling to talk it through. I can't wait to see how they look afterwards. I loved Dina's makeover after last nights show - she was looking SMOKING HOT!

-and...yesterday being my parents 36th Wedding Anniversary! 36 yeaaaars of marriage! Can you believe it? They met when they were 15 and 17, and married when they were 19 and 21. They waited a good while to have me...13 years to be exact, but I was worth the wait! ha ha...I'm SO blessed to have parents who have modeled what a loving relationship is and what a relationship should be. They are so lucky that everyday they get to wake up married to their best friend. They really are two people who love each other unconditionally who support each other through the hardest and toughest times. I can tell just how much they love each other too. I pray I find that kind of love someday...we would all be SO lucky to have it and I hope so many of you have found that :) The more I think about it my parents compliment each other so well. They most definitely are NOT alike. My mom is a VERY strong woman, very outspoken, very opinionated who doesn't let anyone walk all over her, and my father is the opposite. He's very laid-back, hilarious, would do anything for anyone and is just an all-around southern boy. I'm waiting for MY southern boy! Do I need to move to AL, NC, SC, KY, or TN to find him?! I will if I have to!

-Friday night: Looking forward to a CRAB FEAST. You all know Maryland girls love their steamed crabs!

  1. I LOVE teenage romances. My grandparents were similar but they were 14 and married at 21. I think that is the strongest kind of love. One could only wish for that, congratulations to your parents!Glad your week is going well :)

  3. Congrats on the test - and I always cry at The Biggest Loser, too! Tracey is definitely in need of some extra help.

P.S. Don't forget TN for some Southern gentlemen!
