a little slice of south carolina heaven...

Rhett House Inn in Beaufort, South Carolina

The Rhett House Inn in historic Beaufort, South Carolina is a plantation home that dates back to the 1800's. The classic antebellum architecture surrounded by beautiful live oaks is truly representative of the beauty of the Old South and the low country. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the porch overlooking the street and days can be spent reading books and relaxing on the huge porches of this magnificent house. The Inn offers guests a Full Southern breakfast each morning (who could possibly resist that?), afternoon tea and pastries, evening hors d'oeuvres, homemade desserts before bed, the use of bicycles, beach chairs, and towels compliments of the Inn, as well as a complimentary pool and tennis at the Sanctuary Golf Club. The shops and restaurants in historic Beaufort are just steps away. The rooms are homey and beautifully decorated, each room having it's own flair and style.

The house stood through the Civil War as a hospital for recovering soldiers. Life is relaxed and breathtaking here. Unwind with Southern hospitality at it's finest. Definitely a little slice of heaven steeped in rich Southern history. While I'm afraid if I stayed here, I would never want to come home, this is one of the places that is top on my list of places to go.
