Hi there! It's been a while. Just thought that I would check in. I haven't been up to too much lately. Yesterday I ventured to Chesapeake City with my friend and her mother to pick out table cloths for their wedding reception. She's getting married in a few weeks there and I can't wait! I'm lucky enough to be a bridesmaid and the dresses are a beautiful shade of pink (my favorite color). The theme is pink and green so you already know that I'm a fan. She was my roommate for 3 years in college and I can't imagine the emotions I'll feel on the big day, watching her walk down the aisle. I feel like I've seen her grow from a little girl into a woman in so many ways. The wedding will be absolutely beautiful and I really adore the couple. They are as different as night and day in many aspects, but compliment each other so well. I am truly happy for them and feel like I'm such a part of both of their families. I know I won't want the wedding weekend to end. This is my 3rd wedding this summer, and my 2nd to be in so I feel like I kind of have things down pat. These weddings are kind of emotional for me because I feel like these girls are such a big part of my life. I mean we lived together for years and now they are getting married, moving into new houses with their husbands, and will be starting their own families. It's exciting...but sometimes makes me miss the good 'ol days of living at college and being around them all the time. Funny how much you realize how much you miss something when things change...
For those of you are are in Maryland or close by - Chesapeake City is really quaint and right on the water. We walked around, had lunch on the water, went in a few shops, and while there isn't a lot to do, there's something so relaxing about being on the water. I can't wait to see the sunset there. The historic buildings in town are adorable with bright, bold colors and big porches. Although St. Michaels is my favorite town on the water in Maryland, this place will be ranked up there after having such a memorable wedding weekend there. This will be my last wedding of the summer...after that I'll be in wedding withdrawal when all the showers and bachelorette parties are over with. I won't know what to do with myself. I guess next will be housewarming parties and baby showers :)
I was also asked to do a toast which should be interesting...anyone have any ideas or advice on that? A good starting point? I know I have to use some humor...but the more I start thinking about it, I wonder what I am getting myself into...speaking infront of hundreds of people, holy moly. My plan is to have a drink or two to loosen up and hopefully I'll be good to go...

My first friend to get married is having her wedding in August and I can't wait. Hope everything goes smoothly and I know your speech will be great! I left you something on my blog! :)
ReplyDeleteBerk!!! I'm SO excited to see you have a blog now! Can't wait to read more. Oh, and I ADORE St. Michaels. My high school bf's fam lived there every summer and I was OC every summer so I'd visit him alllll the time. I miss MD :(
